This drop-off playgroup is designed to meet the growing needs of Jersey City Families. Toddler Time is for children crawling to 36 months of age. Come and drop-off your child in a safe, fun and exciting environment for a few hours so you can get a much needed break to run errands, go to an appointment or just have some personal time. This is perfect for the stay at home parent who requires some childcare but not too much to warrant daycare or a babysitter. Also a great option for the toddler who is home with a nanny all day and would benefit from socialization with other children.

Feedback, Pictures and Program info...
Diana,
Just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks again for this summer.
I think Toddler Time is such a great addition to the Jersey City baby
scene! It was a perfect fit for me as a mom who works part-time, and
I think it was a great way to help ease Ben's transition to school in
the fall. He made friends and gained confidence in himself because
the program made him feel like a "big boy." Thanks again to you and
Emily.
Best wishes,
Sarah W.

Common Questions:
Common Questions
Is Toddler Time part of a daycare center that is licensed?
No. This program is not a formal daycare and should not be viewed as one. This program provides brief respite childcare for a small number of children which does not require formal licensing by the State of New Jersey.
Who will be caring for my child while at Toddler Time?
Care will be provided by educated and experienced caregivers. Caregivers will also have completed a thorough background check as well as being certified in Infant/Child CPR.
We pride ourselves on having a professional and caring staff.
How many children will be in the Toddler Time group?
There will be only five children enrolled in each session. Each session will maintain a strict policy of two caregivers when four or more children are present. This ratio is higher then the standard for the State of New Jersey. (Click on the link to find out the State standard)
What type of activities will the children be doing?
Playing. There will be lots of fun toys and things to keep your child amused. We will have a daily story time, sing alongs and other age appropriate activities. Children of this age practice parallel play which means they do not interact much with eachother in formal activities. They are very social though and love to watch, learn and mimic their friends and caregivers. Your child will lead his/her activities while at Toddler Time. They may decide to play with a toy on their own in a quiet corner or they may want to participate in a group activity..
Please keep in mind that this is a drop-off playgroup. We provide high quality respite childcare. We will be introducing new and creative themes to keep the kidThis is not a educational class.
NEW - This fall we have added a creative arts instructor to our program who has developed a theme based program that will introduce the kids to new books and art activities throughout the semester.
Can I bring food/snack for my child?
Yes. Please bring a healthy drink and snack for your child to have during the session. Please be sure to label everything with your childs name. We will only allow NUT FREE snacks.
Will you need to bring diapers?
Yes. We would like you to leave a fully stocked diaper bag with your child. Provide adequate diapers, wipes, extra set of clothes etc.
How long will Toddler Time last?
Toddler Time will be three hours long. You are welcome to come anytime during that period but you will be billed the full session rate regardless.
Can I stay with my child for a little bit?
Definitely. You know your child best and some children like to become familiar with a new environment while their parent is present. Keep in mind that many children will be sad to see their parent go no matter how long you have stayed with them. This saddness usually does not last more then a few minutes and then they are ready to move on to having some fun.
We will bill for the full session rate even if a parent is present.
Can I pay as I go for Toddler Time?
No. Since we will only have five children for each session we would like families to commit on a semester basis.
What if my child is sick?
We will adhere to a strict sick policy similar to what is found at a licensed daycare. If your child appears sick or becomes sick during the session we will call you immediately. If your child has a medical emergency your child will be accompanied by the caregiver/teacher to the closest emergency room (JC Medical Center). You will be notified immediately.
Do I have to pay for a session if my child is out sick or on vacation?
Yes. Even if your child is out sick we are holding that spot for him/her until they come back. We will be unable to fill a spot at the last minute. We will also not accomodate trading sessions with other families enrolled in the program. As good of an idea as this may sound we have found that some children do not feel comfortable in a different session with a new group of kids and/or caregiver.
What is your payment/refund policy?
There is a $25 registration fee for new families. Returning families will be exempt from this fee. The tuition will be paid in three installments. The first due at enrollment, second at the beginning of the semester and the second will be due midway through the semester. We prefer payment by check but can accept paypal as well.
Once you have registered for the semester you are responsible for the entire tuition amount for the semester..
We will not be able to accomodate refunds after the session has started. If the Toddler Time program is not a good fit for your child, the Director may refund the balance of sessions unused provided we are able to fill your spot with another child that is suitable for that session.
There will be a $25 fee for any returned checks.
